If you have Quest 3, try the room scanning once because you paid for its depth sensor. It actually works, although it is not perfect.
I heard that Meta will release the real-time depth API with better accuracy. I’ll update this feature once again when it becomes available.

Take your time to get the best room scan possible. The better the room scan is, the better the shadow gets.
I once tried to get a whole scan of my home. But it turns out Q3 room scan has time limits. I think 2-3 rooms is a practical limit.
An afterthought after busting my ass for two days for this Quest3 room scan:
I can’t help but think that this is one more gimmick, not so practical, and not a big step.. 🙂
I mean, the room scan looks cool at first, but in reality, the resulting mesh is a mess. It’s not that difficult to draw surfaces manually using my AR drawing features. Hand drawings are clean and precise.
The room scan is confined to the room. I’d like to have my AI companion roam the whole house.
What the fuck is so great about throwing virtual balls at walls and seeing them bounce, lol? It could be fun for 10 minutes.
