Additional Features in AR Scan Menu

These new buttons are for the advanced users.

Align Navigation Path is used to align the navigation path grids to your environment. You’ll see the effect immediately. It’ll help the character to navigate your home if it’s aligned at the right angle to your place.

Use Reset Scan Data to restart the scan. This button will be useful if you use the manual scan mode.

Drawing Custom Walls in Quest 3

This method fixes the glass or mirror walls in AR Scan mode.

Simulated Depth in Quest 2

This video is recorded in Q3, but it works exactly like this in Q2 and Pro.

‼️Caution about the drawing video : that video gave me motion sickness and made me throw up. Probably I watched it too closely to my eyes. I ask you to watch it from a distance.

Usage Notes

• These drawings are saved in the browser, and their real-world positions are preserved in the next run.
• But sometimes, positions in the real world are messed up. To deal with such, look up the “advanced AR troubleshooting” article. (preparing)

• This demo is a “safe version” without any sexual elements. It’s for the evaluation of the spatial awareness feature.

This is a challenge at the true spatial awareness in AR.

This is superb because all of it is done automatically on the fly. (This is not the Meta’s room mapping. It’s my own solution.)

You can customize the scanning behavior by going to the AR Space Edit/AR Scan menu.

Display Radar Effect to Visualize Scans – After a while, you’ll get used to the radar effect. Turn it off here.

While the radar effect occurs at the 2-second interval, game scans as often as every half a second.

Other options are self explanatory.

Here’s a recording of a new dance move. Damn thing took me almost 30 hours, lol. But it’s the highest quality so far.

I had bookmarked around 30 indie songs on Epidemic Sound. And I ended up adding seven of them. It’s difficult to find the dancable songs.

• You don’t exactly need the virtual hand in the AR mode.

Hide the virtual hands by dragging the alpha slider to zero. There’s no problem using the menu without the virtual hands.

Also, there’s no problem in posing.

This is made possible by the AR Depth Occlusion.

These days, more users are playing in AR mode than VR mode. Why don’t you give this a try?

Here’s a new option to make this easier. It’s in the red-gear option menu, VR settings section.

It only activates if it’s in the AR mode and AR occlusion is active.

A notice regarding the boundless AR

Boundless AR won’t work on your first try. But if you exit VR using the game menu, then enter AR again, it will work.

Meta, as they always do, has broken the once-well-behaved feature yet again with their unending updates.🤨

These features are supported in the Pose Simulator, Dance Pack, and XR Girlfriend.

• AR occlusion takes up a bit of performance. I’m seeing a 10-20% drop in frame rates with occlusion. You can turn it off from the start screen.

I confirm that the Quest 3S supports depth sensing. I think the accuracy is slightly off with the S version, though.
